SB119 amends Article 4 of Chapter 3 of Title 8 of the OCGA
by adding sexual orientation and gender identity into law to protect individuals
in the existing Fair Employment Practices Act. In addition Chapter 16 has been
added, which details that everyone should be entitled to the full and equal
enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations
of any public place. Those who file a
complaint to the Commission on Equal Opportunity violating these laws, must do
so within a year. If found responsible, those in violation may be required to
pay $10,000 - $50,000 in fees. |
