Staff Analysis of the Legislation

SB 145 amends Chapter 6 of the OCGA by clarifying that sexual offenses can be committed against both male and female individuals. Sections 2-1 through 2-13, 2-17 through 2-19, 2-24, 2-26, 2-27, and 2-31 remove aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual battery as a charge. Section 2-14 through 2-16 clarify which code sections relate to which offenses. Lastly, Section 2-37 adds that Code Section 16-6-5.1 shall also related to sexual assault committed by or with persons with practitioner, supervisory, or disciplinary authority.
