SUMMARY:  LC 21 2347  Creates the Joint Senate and House Committee on the Design of the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia. The 17 member Committee is to evaluate whether the state should continue of offer the existing retirement plan to new employees entering the teaching profession after July 2017 or a new retirement plan that would be less costly.  

EFFECTIVE DATE:  If the resolution is adopted, the Committee report shall be made on or before January 1, 2015.
