SUMMARY:

            This bill would amend Part 3 of Article 6 of Title 20 of the O.C.G.A. to require the DOE to develop a model program for instruction in the performing arts and to require LBOE’s to incorporate such a course in the curriculum.

REQUIREMENTS:

• The DOE must develop the model program by 12/31/09, and music, dance and drama would have to be included,
• Beginning with the 2010-2011 school year, all LBOE’s would have to incorporate such a program in the curriculum at the LBOE’s discretion.
