SUMMARY:  This bill would amend Chapter 2 of Title 2 of the O.C.G.A. to provide for several heads of state departments to be appointed by the Governor with confirmation by the senate with a salary set by the Governor.  Those department heads include the State School Superintendent.

NOTE:  This bill would give the Governor power far beyond the scope of any previous Governor of the State of Georgia.  Those powers could be used for improvement of each of the departments, or they could serve as an avenue for political compensation rather than a desire to improve education for the children of Georgia and the protection of the citizens of the state.
