SUMMARY:  This bill would amend Part 4 of Article 6 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the O.C.G.A.  to change funding for certain dual enrollment courses and to adjust state funding for commission charter schools that provide virtual instruction.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Students dually enrolled would be counted for the high school program if the course is conducted at a facility operated by the LBOE, at a charter school or a commission charter school.
• Commission charter schools that offer virtual instruction may have their funding reduced by the commission based on the cost of providing the course, but not more than 35% of the normal funding rate.
