Committee Secretary Bentons opinion of this legislation:
WHAT PROBLEM/OPPORTUNITY DOES THIS LEGISLATION ADDRESS?
Since we have not restored all austerity cuts in QBE, it will be difficult for systems to try and reduce class sizes at the high school level next school year
WHAT IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THIS LEGISLATION?
This delay is lowering class sizes will give school systems the time and resources to comply with the law.
THIS LEGISLATION:
- Delays the lowering of class size at the high school level for two years and also continues system averaging at the high school level
