The bill creates the Georgia Educational Excellence Foundation, and gives it the power to solicit and accept money and in-kind contributions for the purposes of supporting education in Georgia. The foundation will be able to manage assets, make contracts, and will be attached to the Department of Education for administrative purposes. The members of the board of directors shall be designated by the State School Superintendent. The foundation will be exempt from the Georgia Administrative Procedure Act.
This bill comes to the Floor under the Modified Structured Rule. A technical amendment will be offered on the House Floor which changes the name of the Foundation. |
