Chairman Yates opinion of this legislation:

WHAT PROBLEM/OPPORTUNITY DOES THIS LEGISLATION ADDRESS?

Presently there is no plan to teach Georgia school children presently.  This bill urges school systems to teach patriotism.

WHAT IS THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THIS LEGISLATION?

Commissioner Pete Wheeler wanted a bill to cause the schools to close on Veterans Day.  Our committee thought this approach was better.

THIS LEGISLATION:

  • Strengthens the Traditional Family Structure

We believe that there is nothing more important to the family structure than the love of our country patriotism.
