Senate Bill 305

Chairman: Burke Day

Committee:Public Safety & Homeland Security

House Sponsor: Jay Neal

Senate Sponsor: David Shafer

SB 305 would enact the “Corporate Good Samaritan Act”.  This would extend the same “Good Samaritan” protection from liability that is afforded to individuals responding in emergency situations to corporations and other private organizations. When these organizations and their employees, members, or volunteers are working in cooperation with a state or local emergency response agency, they will not be liable for any damage or injury so long as the person was acting in good faith and not with willful or wanton negligence.

This bill comes to the House Floor under the Modified Structured Rule.
