SB 344 abolishes certain boards and commissions what have become inactive, obsolete, antiquated, or unnecessary. Those abolished/repealed include the Pacific White Shrimp Aquaculture Development Advisory Council, the Georgia Tobacco Advisory Board, the Kinchafoonee Lake Authority. Repeals Power Alley Development Authority, State Waste Water Privatization Oversight Committee, the Coordinating Committee for Exceptional Individuals, the Center for Trade and Technology Transfer, the Georgia Institute for Community Business Development and the Natural Gas Consumer Education Advisory Board.
The Education Information Steering Committee provisions are repealed, though the committee’s state-wide comprehensive educational information system is left in place.
