Senate Bill 348

Chairman: Tom Knox

Committee:Insurance

House Sponsor: Robert Mumford

Senate Sponsor: Ralph Hudgens

Chairman Knox’s Opinion of the Legislation:

This bill provides that the imposition of any fees or taxes for services provided by counties or municipal corporations upon insurance companies is in contravention of public policy. Individuals and insurance companies are being double taxed by counties and municipalities by being billed for services after also paying policy taxes.

This bill comes to the House Floor under the Open Rule.
