Senate Bill 384
Chairman: Roger Williams
Committee:Regulated Industries
House Sponsor: Earl Ehrhart
Senate Sponsor: Don Balfour
Chairman Williams’ Opinion of this Legislation:
This legislation provides some clarification of a bill passed last year. It limits fees charged by the airports for permitting limousine carriers to the approximate cost to the airports of doing so. The bill also provides that airports’ governing authorities should accept a chauffeur’s permit and a certificate issued to limousine carrier as adequate evidence of sufficient criminal background investigations and prohibits them from charging fees for additional criminal background checks. Further, it takes out the provision that allowed cities and municipalities to require limousine carriers located within their boundaries to pay business license fees.
This bill comes to the House Floor under the Open Rule. |
