House Bill 1123

Chair's Name: Vance Smith

Committee: Transportation

House Sponsor: Jay Shaw

HB 1123 requires the DOT to report to the Governor, Lt. Governor, and legislative Transportation Committees information about road and bridge maintenance and the disposal of county maintenance barns and surplus equipment. These reports must also be published on the DOT’s website.

This bill comes to the House Floor under the Open Rule.

Chairman Smith’s opinion of this legislation:

This legislation would provide the legislature with DOT oversight.  It would make DOT responsible for annually reporting on the disposal of county maintenance barns and surplus equipment, road maintenance, and bridge maintenance. The legislature, along with the Governor, Lt. Governor, and Speaker of the House, needs to be annually updated on these issues in order to properly create policy to serve the citizens of this state.
