House Bill 1162
Chair's Name: Tommy Smith
Committee: State Planning & Community Affairs
House Sponsor: Billy Horne
HB 1126 allows a downtown development authority to have a director which resides outside the county, so long as that director owns a business within the downtown development area. If the director ceases to own a business within that area, the seat must be relinquished.

Further Action
The Senate added two amendments. The first added the requirement that a director of a downtown development authority be a resident of the state of Georgia (line 14 on page 1). The second amendment added the provision that if the director ceases to be a resident of the state of Georgia they must give up their seat (line 16 page 1). |
