HB 1183 pushes back the lapse date on provisions related to tuition and other funds from June 20, 2008 to 2010. Section 2 specifies that the amount of non-lapsing revenue collected from university system tuition shall not exceed 3% of the tuition collected.

This bill comes to the Floor under the Open Rule.

Sponsor’s opinion of the bill

This bill allows tuition revenues to carry forward at USG and DTAE institutions. Currently “tuition” is not on the list of revenues that are allowed to be carried forward each year and not lapse back into the general fund.
