This bill modifies definitions; replaces a single panel of judges with the appointment of a panel of judges in each judicial district to consider requests for a grand jury within the district; outlines the duties of a managing judge; provides circumstances that qualify as good cause to summon a grand jury; addresses the requirement of a prosecutor to provide an indicted defendant with a transcript of testimony to the grand jury; requires a county or municipality to pay the expenses of a grand jury when one is summoned at the request of a county attorney, district attorney, or municipal attorney; and makes technical changes. |
