Staff Analysis of the Legislation

In determining total permanent disability for purposes of the Georgia State Indemnification Fund, this legislation creates a presumption that anyone who has served as a firefighter (volunteer or paid) for at least five years and is unable to perform normal firefighter duties because of pulmonary injury, lung disease, HIV/AIDs, meningitis, mesothelioma or hepatitis contracted such condition in the line of duty. |
