Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This legislation allows doctors to enter into nurse protocol agreements (i.e., a written document between a doctor and an advanced practice registered nurse in which the doctor gives the nurse the authority to perform certain medical acts like ordering drugs, medical devices, treatments, and x-rays) with more than four nurses at one time if the nurses is practicing as party of a county or city EMS with a full time medical director.
