This legislation enacts the Georgia Family Medical Leave Act of 2016. If the voters approve the constitutional amendment proposed in SR 1035, SB 411 would provide weekly payments from $50-$74 to an employee taking Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave when ill or injured, when caring for a family member who is ill or injured, or when a child is born, adopted or placed in foster care. The payments will be made from contributions made by the employer and the employee similar to the contributions made for unemployment insurance. |
