HB 63 will require a school board to consist of 7 members, with 4 year staggered terms, with a chair and vice chair appointed from the board membership. A local Act could reduce the number of members to less than 7 but could not increase it to more than 7. This general law would override any local Act provisions to the contrary. It would apply in every county which levies both HOST and ESPLOST. Failure to comply results in discontinuation of ESPLOST collections.
