Staff Analysis of the Legislation

This bill would require several state agencies to prepare an annual report to submit to the Department of Audits and Accounts about the total amount of federal funding received by the state agency.  Each agency would also be required to develop a plan on how to continue operations if the federal funding was reduced by 5% and by 25%.

The bill also proposes that the Senate Government Oversight Committee and the House Committee on Governmental Affairs to jointly study the possibility of enacting legislation that would require counties to calculate the total amount of federal funding it receives, to calculate the percentage of the county's total budget that constitutes federal funding, and to develop a plan for operating the county if the federal funding is reduced by 5% and 25%.
