Staff Analysis of the Legislation
SB 171 is an Act changing the compensation of the clerk of the superior court, the sheriff, and the judge of the Probate Court of Cobb County from the fee system to the salary system. The sheriff of Cobb County shall have one chief deputy, whose salary shall be $130,869.19 per annum, the salary of the assistant chief deputy shall be $118,745.24 per annum. Finally, the bill creates the necessity for an Executive Assistant to be appointed by the sheriff. The salary of the executive assistant shall be $71,347.41 per annum.
