SUMMARY:  LC 49 1201

The bill prohibits any local board of education member from discussing any individual personnel matter with the local superintendent, school administrator, teacher, or other school personnel except as provided for in specific code sections.

No board member could retaliate against the superintendent, school administrator, teacher, or other school personnel for engaging in protected political activity. (You already can't do that.)

Local board of education members are to be "professional and provide fair and courteous treatment in their dealings with the public."

The State Board's model code of ethics would be required to include the above restrictions.
