SUMMARY: LC 28 6641

This is a proposed constitutional amendment to allow cities created on or after January 1, 2005 and any city contiguous to one created in that time frame to establish their own school systems jointly or separately.

EFFECTIVE DATE:

If passed by a 2/3 vote in the General Assembly, it would be placed on the 2014 ballot. If a majority of the voters approved it, it would be effective immediately.
