SUMMARY: LC 49 1103

The bill would require the State Board to  prescribe rules and regulations for community outreach efforts by local school districts to ensure limited-English-proficient students and their parents and guardians are provided information regarding the program. 

It would require the State Board to set standards, based on the criteria in the bill, for foreign language interpreters working with students in educational settings.

It would require local school districts to provide an annual notice to all parents of students with disabilities to include prescribed information and for certain information to be included in minutes of an IEP meeting.
