SUMMARY:

            This bill would amend 13-10-91 relating to verification of new employee info and to imposing penalties.  This part of the bill would prohibit government entities from having sanctuary policies.  It also would amend 50-36-1 regarding legal immigrant status.

REQUIRMENTS:

• On or after July 1, 2009 those who fail to comply shall be subject to withholding state and/or state-administered federal funds.
• Boards of Education are prohibited from having a sanctuary policy that protects illegal immigrants.
• School systems are required to provide any requested information to federal officials.
