SUMMARY:

            This bill would amend Article 6 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the O.C.G.A. to revise provisions to provide for a holiday on November 11 for Veterans Day.

NOTE:

If students are out of school on Veterans Day, the activities that teachers have used to call attention to our veterans and to honor their service could be lost, and it could become just another day out of school to the students.  The bill is a "Senate version" of HB3, which was introduced by another Brunswick-area legislator in response to what is apparently a strong lobbying effort by veterans' groups in that area of the state.
