SUMMARY:

This bill would amend Code Section 48-11-2 of the O.C.G.A. to increase sales tax on cigarettes and loose or smokeless tobacco.

REQUIREMENTS:

Cigarette taxes would increase from $0.37 per pack of 20 cigarettes to $1.37 per pack.
Loose or smokeless tobacco taxes would increase from 10% of the wholesale price to 25%.
