SUMMARY:

            This bill would amend Code Section 48-5-41 of the O.C.G.A. to allow ad valorem tax exemptions for more than one building owned by a “charitable institution qualified as a purely public charity” and reduces the number of acres of land eligible from 15 to 8.  Previous law allows for only one building to be eligible.  A referendum would be required for the legislation to take effect.
