SUMMARY:

            This resolution calls for a House study committee to consider the more than 100 exemptions to sales tax as to their fairness/special treatment, the overall effect on the state’s revenue stream, whether any should be reduced or eliminated and which ones.  Members of the study committee would be Speaker Pro-Tem, chair and vice-chair of Ways and Means and 3 representatives appointed by the Speaker, who also would name the chairperson.
