Bio

Eva is an Arizona native, who grew up in Phoenix and moved to Tolleson in 1992. She is married and the mother of 2 children. Her 27 years in the education arena include teaching in three area elementary school districts, and in administrative positions as Assistant Principal at the Isaac Elementary School District and as Principal at Avondale Elementary School District. She has also been an instructor at South Mountain Community College and at Arizona State University. Dr. Diaz got her PhD from Arizona State in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership. Eva has been part of the Red for Ed movement of the Arizona Education Association which began an aggressive fight for public education in the state in 2018. She has also been active as a volunteer and in paid positions with Chicanos Por La Causa Community Center. Eva Diaz and her mother Ruth Diaz are co-owners of Ni Hao Amigos Language Preschool in Avondale, where their vision is to prepare young children to be successful in kindergarten. Over the years, Eva has also been part of the Children's Ministry at her church.
