Bio

In addition to being the current Minority Leader for the Colorado House of Representatives, Mike is a husband, father, and a proud U.S. Army veteran. He has been married to Alex since 2001. They have two adult children- their daughter Carly who is currently attending Arizona State University and their son Spencer who is enrolled in the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Mike's journey into service began just seven days after his high school graduation when he eagerly enlisted in the U.S. Army. Over the next 11 years, he learned values that would shape his life- service, discipline, commitment, leadership, and sacrifice. Mike holds B.S. degrees in Systems Engineering and Law from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and three certifications from the U.S. Army- Airborne Qualified, Bradley Commander, and Master Fitness Trainer. He also earned a M.S. in Public Administration from the University of Colorado. For 26 years, Mike Lynch forged his own career path across various industries including military, government, medical devices, and software. Mike demonstrated his ability to drive success in many different leadership roles in the private sector- including at prominent organizations like Western Heritage Company, Spectrum HR Systems, SHL-Aspen Tree Software Inc, and Stryker Medical. Mike started a small veteran-owned business- Western Heritage Company- and still serves as its President. During his time as a small business owner, he has orchestrated the relocation of the business, brought manufacturing in-house, and achieved remarkable four-fold revenue growth. He understands firsthand the challenges that businesses face in Colorado's economic climate and knows what must be done in Washington, D.C. to help. Mike Lynch transitioned into the political arena in 2020, and became the Colorado House Minority Leader after the passing of the late Rep. Hugh McKean. Known for his unwavering dedication to the people of Colorado, Mike's commitment to national security, control of borders, and addressing the fentanyl crisis resonates strongly with Coloradans. Mike strives to be a leader who not only understands but actively fights for the well-being of every Coloradan. Mike's leadership style is characterized by a strong and patriotic commitment to consistently fighting for the values and principles that define the greatness of our nation. As a veteran, father, and public servant, Mike has a deep understanding of the challenges facing the country.
