- Served 15 years as the Legislative Chairman for the Louisiana Sheriff's Association
- Served 15 years on the state pension fund for the Louisiana Sheriffs and Deputies
- Managed more than 400 employees and an annual budget of $25 million-plus
- Received clean audits every year
- Funded and constructed on time a new training facility and first-ever consolidated Fire-EMS-Law Enforcement 911 Center
- Inducted into Louisiana Criminal Justice Hall of Fame
