DISTRICT
State Rep. Bradley Slagh was first elected to serve the 90th District in the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2018. The 90th District encompasses parts of Ottawa County, including the cities of Holland, Hudsonville and Zeeland, and the townships of Holland, Jamestown and Zeeland.
COMMITTEES
Rep. Slagh will serve as vice chair of the appropriations subcommittees on Corrections, and Joint Capital Outlay for the 2019-20 legislative session. He serves as a member of the subcommittees on Higher Education and Community Colleges, and Natural Resources and Environmental Quality, and is a member of the Appropriations Committee.
EDUCATION
Rep. Slagh holds a Bachelor's in business administration from Hope College. He is also a 2007 graduate of Michigan Political Leadership Program, a multi-partisan education program, through MSU.
PROFESSIONAL
Before taking office, Rep. Slagh spent 18 years in the financial services industry working first for First Michigan Bank, and then for Byron Center State Bank. Brad then served over 5 years as Zeeland Township Supervisor, and for the last 11 years as the Ottawa County Treasurer. Brad has a real estate license and is supervision partner of a family owned property management business.
PUBLIC OFFICE AFFILIATIONS
Rep. Slagh has been active in many organizations over the years including- being elected to the executive team of Michigan Association of County Treasurers and serving as the president in 2016. Board member for Michigan CLASS, member of Zeeland Chamber of Commerce, and the Macatawa Greenway Partnership.
PERSONAL
Brad has been married to Carol for 34 years and they live in the Zeeland area. They have three grown, married children. Brad is a member of First Reformed Church in Zeeland, serving there in many roles including youth work, teacher, deacon and elder. |
