DISTRICT
State Rep. Luke Meerman was first elected to serve the 88th District in Michigan House of Representatives in November 2018, to represent the residents of Allendale, Georgetown, Tallmadge, Wright, Chester, Coopersville and Polkton townships in Ottawa County.
COMMITTEES
Rep. Meerman will serve as vice chair of the House Agriculture Committee for the 2019-20 legislative term. He also serves on the Local Government Committee, Families Children and Seniors Committee, and the Commerce and Tourism Committee.
PROFESSIONAL AND PUBLIC AFFILIATIONS
Rep. Meerman is a small business owner and fifth-generation dairy farmer. Luke served as a Polkton Township trustee, having been first elected in 2012. He is also a member of the Ottawa County GOP Executive Committee and chairman of the Outreach Committee. Luke is active with the Ottawa County Farm Bureau, and is a past board member (2007-2013) and past vice president (2010-2013).
