Though Paul isn't a native of Greenville, South Carolina, it's where he's called home since graduating high school and dedicated his life to serving the community.
Paul began his career with Bell South (now AT&T), where he worked as a communications consultant, service consultant, senior account executive, customer service trainer, and community relations manager.
While working at Bell South, Paul also served as a member of the Greenville County Council from 1985 to 2000, serving as the Chairman and Vice Chairman.
During his time on the County Council, Greenville saw massive economic development, modernization, and growth with the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail, the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, the Hughes Main Library, the Children's Museum of the Upstate, and the South Carolina Children's Theatre.
In 2000, Paul was elected as the Greenville County Clerk of Court, an office he would hold until his retirement in 2023. While serving as the County Clerk of Court, Paul oversaw the modernization of the county court system, including transferring all records from print to digital to improve operations and communications with other counties.
Philanthropy and serving others have been at the center of Paul's life. During his career, he has served on the boards of various organizations, including the Greenville Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Greenville, First Monday of Greenville, United Way, and Miracle Hill Ministries.
Paul is a man of deep faith and is an active member and usher at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church. In his free time, Paul enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, watching college football, being involved in local organizations, and caring for senior citizens and veterans. |
