Senator April Weaver was elected to serve Alabama's 14th Senate District in July 2021. She served in the House of Representatives from 2010-2020, representing Alabama's 49th District. Following her service in the House, Weaver was appointed by President Donald Trump as regional director of the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for Region IV. She has 25 years of experience in healthcare administration.
Weaver received her B.S. in business administration from the University of Alabama, R.N. from Shelton State Community College, and M.B.A. with a concentration in healthcare administration from Independence University. She is a certified legal nurse consultant from Kaplan University and has her executive certificate in energy policy planning from the Energy Horizon Institute at the University of Idaho.
Weaver is married to Dr. Darrel Weaver, and they share four children. The Weavers attend Pelham First Baptist Church. |
