Laurin moved to Arizona back in 1987 in pursuit of a better quality of life and he found it. He has been self-employed since graduating college and has owned and managed businesses specializing in auto repair, manufacturing, home construction, land development, retail sales, import/exports, business consulting, legal services, and banking. He has been equally successful on the family side of things and has been blessed with eight children who have attended Arizona public schools and who are his greatest accomplishments in life.
Laurin has been very involved in education issues and served on the Maricopa County Community College District Board, as well as having served his local community on the Gilbert City Council. He also enjoys a variety of activities including backpacking, reading, gardening, traveling, flying remote control airplanes, and hydroponic farming. He is a licensed private pilot and a former merit badge counselor and Eagle Scout Review Board member for the Boy Scouts of America. |
