Michelle Salzman resides in Escambia County and is a dedicated small business owner. She is married to Phillip Salzman of Norfolk, Virginia, and together they have three children- Richard, Katlynne, and Chancellor. Born on July 5, 1977, she pursued higher education at Pensacola State College, earning an Associate of Applied Science degree, and later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of West Florida.
Her commitment to service began in the United States Army, where she served for five years as a Logistician and Armorer. During her military career, she received numerous accolades, including the Army Commendation Medal, multiple Army Achievement Medals, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals, among other honors recognizing her exemplary service. She is also an active member of the Baptist faith. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, fishing, practicing at the shooting range, and volunteering within her community.
Elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2020 and subsequently re-elected, she has been a strong advocate for her constituents. Her dedication to civic engagement is evident through her involvement in various organizations. She serves on the boards of the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation, Junior Achievement, the Pensacola MESS Hall Foundation, and the Monument to Women Veterans. She is also a board member of Gulf Coast Crime Stoppers and Take Stock in Children's Leadership Council. A founding member of CivicCon, she has been actively involved in shaping community initiatives and policies.
Her commitment to education and youth development is demonstrated through her previous roles, including serving as the President of the Escambia County Council PTA, a board member of the Florida PTA, and the Education Chair on the City of Pensacola's Mayor Transition Team. Additionally, she was a founding member of the Achieve Escambia Leadership Council. She has also played a key role in fundraising and public relations, having been a fundraising board member for Studer Community Institute and Rally Pensacola, as well as serving as Vice President of Image for the Florida Public Relations Association, Pensacola Chapter.
An advocate for public safety and Second Amendment rights, she is affiliated with organizations such as Florida Carry and the NRA. She is also an active member of Impact 100, the Pensacola Junior League, and the Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast. A dedicated Rotarian with Seville Rotary, she continuously seeks opportunities to contribute to the betterment of her community through leadership, advocacy, and public service. |
