Robert Charles Brannan III resides in Macclenny, Florida. He is a retired Chief Investigator with the Baker County Sheriff's Office, a former Deputy U.S. Marshal, a lifelong cattleman, and a residential rental property owner. He is married to Lorelie Papel Brannan, and they have two children, Chase and Rafe.
Born on February 1, 1962, Brannan attended Lake City Community College, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree. He later graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts, where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He also served as the Justice of the Student Traffic Court and received the President's Award for Outstanding Contributions to the University of Florida. He identifies as Christian and enjoys attending University of Florida football games, is a history buff, raises show cattle, snow skis, and participates in summer watersports.
Brannan was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2018 and has been subsequently re-elected.
In addition to his legislative service, Brannan has been active in numerous organizations. He is a charter member of the Baker County Fair Association Board, where he serves as Youth Livestock Chairman. He has also served as Vice President of the Baker County Jaycees and Chairman of the Baker County Republican Party. Brannan has been involved with the Baker County School System Vocational and Technical Advisory Board and is a member of the Florida Cattlemen's Association, Florida Farm Bureau, and the North Florida Cattlemen's Association Board of Directors.
He has served in leadership roles on several local boards, including the Florida Gateway College Board of Trustees (past Chairman and Vice Chairman) and the Florida Gateway College Foundation Executive Board. Brannan was also a member of the Lake City Community College Board of Trustees and twice served as President of the Macclenny Lions Club. |
