| Douglas Michael Bankson is a pastor and the founder of a ministry and faith-based school. He resides in Apopka, Florida, and was born on February 18, 1963, in Altadena, CA. Douglas moved to Florida in 1982. He has an extensive educational background, including studies in Music Education at Missouri Southern (1981-1982), and religious education at Word of Faith Leadership and Bible Institute (1983-1984). He earned a Bachelor of Theology (BTh) from Life Christian University in 2011, a Master of Theology (MTh) in 2012, and a Doctor of Divinity (DDiv) from School of Bible Theology Seminary and University in 2015.
He is married to Jeri Bankson, originally from Sioux City, IA, and they have four children- Benjamin, Joseph, Michael, and Victoria "Tori" along with a grandchild, Elliana "Elli" Ezra. Douglas' religious affiliation is with the Non-denominational Christian faith.
Douglas has a wide range of recreational interests, including being a certified SCUBA diver, golf enthusiast, instrument-rated pilot, musician, producer, singer/songwriter, and tennis player. He is also passionate about overseas missions and enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2022 and was reelected subsequently. |
