Christine Hunschofsky, a dedicated public servant, resides in Parkland, Florida, with her husband, Hannes Hunschofsky, and their children, Michael and John. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Boston University in 1992, followed by an MBA from Babson College in 1996. Relocating to Florida in 2000, she has since been actively engaged in her community. A Catholic by faith, she has built a career in leadership and governance.
Hunschofsky was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2020 and has been reelected since. Her political career began at the local level, serving as Mayor of Parkland from 2016 to 2020, Vice Mayor from 2014 to 2016, and City Commissioner from 2013 to 2016.
Her involvement extends to numerous boards and organizations. She is a current member of the Florida Commission on Mental Health and Substance Abuse, the Parkland Chamber of Commerce, and the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce. She has co-chaired the United States Conference of Mayors Small Cities Forum and served on the Broward League of Cities School and Community Safety Task Force. Additionally, she has contributed to education and community service through her roles with the Broward Pap Corps, Mary Help of Christians Women's Club, and Parkland Friends of the Library.
Hunschofsky's work has earned her several recognitions, including the Florida League of Cities Legislative Appreciation Award (2021, 2022), Legislator of the Year from the Florida Mental Health Advocacy Coalition and Florida School Boards Association (2022), and the Mental Health America of Southeast Florida Epic Award (2022). She has also been honored by organizations such as the Florida Bicycle Association, the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Broward County Women's Hall of Fame. |
