Robin Bartleman, an assistant principal and former special education teacher, has served in the Florida House of Representatives since 2020, earning reelection in subsequent terms. Born on August 27, 1972, she moved to Florida in 1976. She holds a BS in Emotionally Handicapped Education from Florida International University, where she graduated magna cum laude in 1994, and an MS in Emotional Disturbance Education with a Certification in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in 1997. In 2006, she became a Certified Board Member through the Florida School Board Association.
A dedicated mother to Emma and Sarah, Bartleman enjoys bike riding, circuit training, and reading in her free time. Her commitment to education and public service spans decades, including her tenure on the Broward County School Board from 2004 to 2020 and her earlier role as a Weston City Commissioner from 2000 to 2004.
Bartleman actively participates in several civic and policy initiatives, including the Broward County Climate Change Task Force, the Broward County Comprehensive School Health Advisory Committee (where she serves as Vice Chair), and the Department of Juvenile Justice Judicial 17th Circuit Advisory Board. She also chairs the Children's Services Council of Broward County Special Needs Advisory Coalition and has previously chaired the Children's Services Council of Broward County.
Recognized for her leadership and advocacy, Bartleman has received numerous accolades, including the Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention FISPY Humanitarian Award (2018), the Broward County Young Democrats Bob Gross Young Democrat of the Year Award (2012), and the Florida School Counselor Association Advocate of the Year Award (2009). She was also honored as the League of Women Voters of Florida's Up and Coming Future Leader and Young Elected to Watch (2012), the American Women's Business Association's School Board Member of the Year (2007), and the Broward Young Democrats' Trailblazer of the Year (2004). |
