Alex Rizo is an educator, small business owner, and legislator serving in the Florida House of Representatives since 2020. A longtime resident of Hialeah, he has dedicated his career to education, leadership, and community service.
Rizo holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Florida International University (1995) and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration from Nova Southeastern University (2000). He further honed his expertise at the Harvard Graduate School of Education's National Institute for Urban School Leaders in 2006.
Born in New York City, Rizo moved to Florida in 1968. A devout Catholic, he enjoys boating, camping, cooking, fishing, and cultivating bonsai and orchids. He previously served as Vice Chair of Miami-Dade Community Council 5 (2015-2020) and remains active in the Hialeah and Miami Lakes Chambers of Commerce. He is also a member of Mensa. |
