Joel Fry is serving his fourth term in the Iowa House.
Fry received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Simpson College in Indianola and later earned his Master of Social Work and Aging Studies degree from the University of Iowa. He has dedicated many years to being a social worker, working with patients and families in their end of life care. He has worked for Hospice of Central Iowa as well as Weatherbee Resources, where he served as a consultant. Fry has taught for the University of Iowa School of Social Work and teaches at Simpson College.
Fry comes from a long line of small business owners and currently he and his wife own and operate Team Restoration Ministries, which they founded in 2005. They work with individuals, couples and families through counseling and therapy. He is a licensed Independent Social Worker.
Joel's wife, Heather, also owns and operates To the Beat Dance Studio in rural Clarke County. She is also a licensed elementary educator and serves as a consultant for homeschool families. The Fry family understands the challenges small business owners face every day. They both volunteer with a number of marriage initiatives on the local, state, and national level. Joel and Heather have 9 children. And have been foster parents to 9 other children. The family resides in rural Clarke County. |
