With her, Senator Carrie Koelker brings 28 years of experience in the tourism industry having worked at the Dubuque Chamber of Commerce Convention & Visitor's Bureau (now Travel Dubuque) from 1994-2000 and most recently as the executive director of Eastern Iowa Tourism. Senator Koelker has long since had a working relationship with regional attractions, travel destinations, and industry leaders. She will continue to focus on forging partnerships in her role for Travel Dubuque by working with tourism entities in Dubuque, Dubuque County, and the region as the Vice President of Community Engagement.
Senator Koelker takes pride in promoting Iowa's people and places, whether it is small town hospitality or big city excitement. That experience in economic development provides her with the knowledge and experience to benefit economic development efforts in rural Iowa.
Senator Koelker is a lifelong Iowan and a mother of four. She is deeply engaged with her community, serving on the board of the Dyersville Area Community Foundation, the Iowa Tourism Industry Partners, Enhance Iowa, Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Economic Development Authority. |
