A physician from Morton, Rep. Hauter graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1997. He completed medical residencies in Emergency Medicine and Anesthesiology at Indiana University. Bill is board certified and actively practices both specialties at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. A partner with the Associated Anesthesiologists, he specializes in pediatric and adult cardiac anesthesia. He also is Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Surgery (Anesthesiology) at the U of I College of Medicine - Peoria. Bill was elected to the Tazewell County Board and served on the Health Services and Property Committees. He was also an elected officer in his physician group, the Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists as well as several other medical societies and organizations. He is a Fellow and Delegate in the American Society of Anesthesiologists and a Fellow in the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. In July 2023 Rep. Hauter was appointed to Illinois' Rare Disease Commission, and in October he joined the Children's Health Caucus. Also, he is co-chair of the Illinois EMT Training, Recruitment and Retention Task Force. Dr. Hauter has participated in multiple medical missions in South America and Haiti. Bill and his wife, Shelley, have 5 children and are active in their church, adoption and pregnancy center ministries. |
