State Rep. Lorissa Sweet was elected to the Indiana House of Representatives in 2022. She represents House District 50, which includes Huntington County, and portions of Miami, Wabash and Wells counties.
Since 2016, Sweet served as a Wabash County councilwoman. In 2009, she opened a small business, Sweet Grooms, where she works as a professional pet groomer. In 2021, she launched Sweet Occasions LLC, a rustic wedding decor rental business. She earned a bachelor's degree in animal agribusiness from Purdue University and is a Maconoquah High School graduate.
Sweet and her husband, Jeremy, live in Wabash, and have two grown daughters, Hally and Amelia. They are members of College Corner Brethren Church where they are active in ministry and Bible studies. The pair also serve as leaders for Brethren Way of Christ and Faith Quest, a program for spiritual weekend retreats for teens and adults. |
