Kent's Elected and Volunteer Positions
In In 2018 Kent was elected as the 25th District At-Large Democratic Central Committee Member, where he currently serves as the Chair. In 2020, Kent served as a member of Maryland's Electoral College to elect President Joseph R. Biden and Vice-President Kamala D. Harris. In 2021, Kent was appointed as the African-American Diversity Leadership Chair for the State of Maryland.
Kent is an ordained minister at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church where he serves as the Social Justice Minister. Along with these activities, Kent is a member of the Prince George's County Young Democrats and the South County Democratic Club.
Kent's Professional Life
Kent has over 20 years of experience working in Government Relations. He currently works for an agricultural association where he monitors federal legislative issues that include agriculture, transportation, sustainability, and environmental protection.
He gained exposure to Capitol Hill while interning for U.S. Congressman Albert Wynn. Kent was also employed at the U.S. Supreme Court before serving as a legislative assistant for a Maryland State Delegate.
Kent's Family Life
Originally from Memphis, TN, Kent grew up in Prince George's County in Clinton, MD with his wife, their two sons and daughter. Kent is a proud graduate of Frederick Douglass High School in Upper Marlboro, MD. He received his Bachelor's and Master's in political science from Ball State University. |
